WWE better have big plans for MVP because they’re killing him right now. I read somewhere that he’s lost nine matches in a row on Smackdown. How can they do this? MVP has great mic skills, is as good as anyone on Smackdown when it comes to cutting promos and he generates serious heat whenever he’s on. Plus, he can work. The angle he had with Matt Hardy last year was the best thing going in wrestling. That really elevated Hardy but somehow MVP got left behind.
It’s not like there isn’t anything available for him. Why not throw him into the United States Title picture with Shelton Benjamin, R-Truth and also add The Brian Kendrick? Doesn’t that sound like something you would watch? Although, another face is needed to make it a little more interesting. Another plan could be to have him start a feud with Jeff Hardy and continue what he did with Matt. Just a thought.
One of the things that hurt MVP in his first title run is that he won the United States Title from Chris Benoit a month before Benoit killed his family and himself. Had Benoit not done that, WWE could have played up how he won the title more than they were able to. Working with Hardy was a way for the focus to be put on the belt and not who he won it from. Whatever happened, MVP should have come out of that program with Hardy in line for a run at the World Heavyweight Title.
Please WWE, rethink your plans for MVP and elevate him to a relevant position in the company. He may not be a main event guy, for now, but there’s no reason he can’t be an upper mid-carder. He should not be jobbing to anyone in this company. Remember, MVP is better that YOU.
